Brian-Kropp

Managing Director at CEB — At CEB, Brian oversees the development of human resources-focused content for CEB’s members.  Chief human resource officers, heads of compensation and heads of benefits turn to Brian for guidance relating to workforce challenges, employee engagement, high potential employees, organizational design and succession management. While companies typically like to look at what has happened over the last three to six months, Brian emphasizes that they should be looking forward to what is going to happen during the next three years.

Brian has led more than 100 strategy sessions with executive teams at Fortune 100 companies around the world.  He is a sought-after HR expert and has been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and USA Today among others. He is also often asked to share his expertise on employee engagement and leadership development at conferences and events.

Prior to joining CEB, Brian worked for a variety of research institutions and taught courses in economics, policy analysis and quantitative methods at the University of North Carolina.  He has been published in several books, academic journals, and other periodicals.  Brian holds a Ph.D. in Policy Analysis from the University of North Carolina and an M.A. and B.S. in Economics from Clemson University.

In his spare time, Brian sits on the boards of two non-profits dedicated to childhood education, Everybody Wins! USA and Kidpower. He also enjoys running and participates in two to three 5K races per month. Brian was born in South Africa and raised in Virginia, where he now lives with his wife and two children.
